The VISUCAMPRO NM  is a non-mydriatic (not requiring dilation) retinal camera system from the legendary optics of Carl Zeiss which allows us to photo-document diseases affecting the retina, macula and optic nerve. This advance system requires no dilation and records stunning 3D digital images which help us in treating and following changes associated with glaucoma, macular degeneration and a host of other conditions in the back of the eye. This service is billable to Medicare and PPO medical insurances.

Additionally, we recommend taking screening retinal photos on all patients with healthy eyes to document baseline findings so that we can make year to year comparisons to monitor for change.

The Heidelberg Retinal Tomograph (HRT III) is a specialized diagnostic imaging instrument which vastly improves early detection of optic nerve disease, especially glaucoma. The National Eye Institute's landmark Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study (OHTS) determined that the HRT diagnostic test can detect structural damage to the optic nerve in glaucoma up to 8 years earlier than most other diagnostic tests available. As with retinal photography, HRT III testing is comvered by most medical insurance plans and Medicare.
